about

Powerless is about the deep chasm you can fall into after accepting your mental health will not magically return to how it was. It’s about the horrible thoughts that come paired with mental illness. Thoughts like ‘nothing is keeping me here’ and ‘I’d rather get drunk than try again’.

lyrics

"It's time to let go," you said
But I haven't started doing that
I want to get drunk instead
Let the past be the past
Never to look back again

And I hate me for who I am
Give me one good reason to get up again
And I'd rather have no regrets
Than to sit and see how bad this gets

Ooh
Ooh aah
I found out long ago
I am powerless

I fought a fair fight, but I admit
I never had any chance after what you did

And I hate me for what I've become
All my tears will drown me 'till I'm gone
Nothing is keeping me here

Aah
Aah aah
I found out long ago
I am powerless

Nothing, nothing, nothing is keeping me, nothing
Nothing, nothing, nothing is keeping me, nothing
Nothing, nothing, nothing is keeping me, nothing
Nothing, nothing
Nothing is keeping me here

Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is
Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is
Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is
Nothing is keeping me here
Nothing is keeping me here
